Joanne Rydzewski graduated from the State University of New York Maritime College in 2010. She holds an USCG Second Assistant Engineer's Unlimited Tonnage License for steam and diesel vessels and currently works on a 750-foot ultra deepwater drillship in the Gulf of Mexico. She has been the sole female marine engineer on the vessels she has worked on over the last seven years, but she too is on a mission to change this by working with Women Offshore; an online resource center for a diverse workforce on the water.
