Community Projects Manager

Location: Remote | Part-Time $25.00/hour (25 hours per week) 

Position Overview: The Community Project Manager plays a critical role in executing and managing a variety of initiatives, including developing and supporting community programming, events, marketing, copywriting, and social media engagement. This individual will be responsible for ensuring projects align with the organization’s mission and objectives, overseeing logistics, stakeholder collaboration, and the successful implementation of programs and outreach efforts. Occasional travel will be required.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and minimal management oversight, the Community Project Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with staff, board members, volunteers, and industry partners.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Project & Program Management
  • Develop, plan, and execute community programs and initiatives that align with the organization’s goals.
  • Monitor project budgets as needed, ensuring efficient use of funds and adherence to grant or funding requirements.
  • Implement evaluation methods to measure program impact and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with community partners, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  1. Event Coordination
  • Assist in the planning of events that engage community members and industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee event-specific goals and programming including on-site execution, ensuring smooth operations and attendee engagement.
  • Evaluate event/programming success and implement learnings for continuous improvement.

 

  1. Marketing, Copywriting & Social Media
  • Develop compelling content for newsletters, podcast, website, and marketing materials to promote programs and events.
  • Collaborate with the team to execute social media campaigns and digital outreach strategies.
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment with the organization’s mission in all communications.
  • Track analytics engagement metrics, adjusting strategies as needed.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement & Community Outreach
  • Foster relationships with industry leaders, donors, and community partners to support organizational initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, networking opportunities, and community forums: as needed

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, nonprofit operations, program implementation, or a related field.
  • Background in marketing, social media management, and content creation.
  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an independent environment
  • Proficiency in project management tools, social media platforms, and marketing software.
  • Experience working with volunteers and community partners is a plus.
  • Experience working in the maritime industry is highly desirable
  • Passion for advancing gender diversity and inclusion in the maritime and offshore industries is highly desirable.
