Today, explore leadership at sea. What does it take to lead a crew? How can one improve his or her leadership skills?

On the latest episode of the Women Offshore Podcast, the founder of Women Offshore, Ally Cedeno, interviews Captain Christine Klimkowski, an unlimited master mariner with 17 years of experience in the maritime industry.

Captain Christine is a graduate of SUNY Maritime College and has an MBA from Seattle University. She is currently an instructor at Pacific Maritime Institute (PMI) in Seattle, Washington and is on her way to become a pilot in Southeast Alaska.

As an instructor at PMI, Captain Christine focuses on leadership skills through her passion to develop the next generation of merchant mariners. She shares with Ally what it takes to elevate one’s leadership skills to the next level and how mentoring can be a part of that.
