Liz Schmidt
Executive Director

Liz Schmidt is a maritime professional and nonprofit leader with over 15 years of experience in strategic operations, community programming, and industry advocacy. Co-founder and  Director of Operations at Shipyard Supply USA, she manages logistics and supply chain operations for yachts over 100 feet.

Her hands-on maritime experience includes working on deck aboard yachts, providing her with a practical understanding of life and work at sea. Passionate about community impact, Liz volunteers as Treasurer of The Local Octopus Foundation. She also contributes to national drowning prevention efforts as part of the U.S. National Water Safety Plan’s Life Jacket Working Group.

She enjoys traveling and boating all over the world or exploring the picturesque waterways of her hometown, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Christine MacMillan
Director of Career Support

Christine is a 2009 Graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and went to sea for 8 years, upgrading to unlimited tonnage Chief Mate. She is grateful for her experience on vessels ranging from live-aboard sailing excursion vessels to research ships, Ro/Ro ships, and product tankers.

After transitioning ashore, starting a family, and working in shoreside ship operations, Christine felt the tug to reorganize her life, focusing on service and meaningful relationships. She joined the Women Offshore Team in March 2022 as the Career Development Program Coordinator and hasn’t looked back since!

Christine loves learning and earned her EMBA in 2025. Christine educates her daughter, Sophie, on an adventure she calls “Worldschooling”. Traveling through North America for the foreseeable future, the duo explores the country's beautiful parts slowly and intentionally.

Brian Boucher
Social Media Manager

Brian is a New England native whose love for the water was shaped by summers in Cape Cod and life along the Rhode Island coast. A passionate and well-traveled professional (with over 52 countries under his belt), Brian began his career in corporate events before following his heart, and the tide south to Fort Lauderdale, a city he now proudly calls home. His deep appreciation for life on the water led him to pursue a maritime career, earning his U.S. Coast Guard-issued Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) while working for a major tour boat operator. Over the years, Brian rose through the ranks in business operations, sales, and marketing, blending his hospitality expertise with a genuine love for community and connection.

As the Social Media Manager for the Women Offshore Foundation, Brian brings his creative storytelling, marketing savvy, and passion for equity to amplify the voices of community members in the maritime and offshore industries.

When he’s not working, Brian can be found exploring with his mini Australian Shepherd, Rico, soaking up the sun at the beach, or cruising the waterways of South Florida. He is also a proud member of the LGBTQ community, passionate about representation, inclusivity, and living life with authenticity.

Madeline Hernandez
Community Projects Manager

Bringing a decade of digital marketing experience across industries like aviation, marine, health, and wellness, Madeline thrives on the creative side of strategy, crafting campaigns that connect, inspire, and deliver results.

Beyond the metrics and marketing plans, she’s driven by a deeper purpose: uplifting women in every part of their lives, both personally and professionally. Madeline brings this same energy to her work, helping teams collaborate, grow, and succeed together.

Based in sunny South Florida, she’s a proud wife, mom to two awesome kids, and dog mom to a lovable goldendoodle. When she’s not working, you’ll find her at the beach jumping waves with her kids or supporting causes close to her heart.
