Job Summary

The Business Process Manager drives comprehensive outcome-driven process design solutions, analysis, and coordination with a high level of business fluency for the optimization and continuous improvement of existing business process.

Primary Objectives

• Design, facilitate, and drive achievement of required system and process outcomes. Apply practical change management principles to ensure sustained adoption of processes and practices.

• Monitor, measure, and constantly improve and develop the process and system tools that support operations and transactions processes.

• Conduct solution planning, perform gap analysis on business need to capabilities, identify gaps and deficiencies in processes, and leverage enterprise service capabilities.

• Develop organizational tools and methods to track, communicate, and substantiate continuous improvement initiative projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Continuously collaborate with business and stakeholders to analyze new and current business needs, solicit and develop requirements detail, and design business solutions that enable the business area to achieve its objectives

• Direct and coordinate execution of critical projects, identification of inter-dependencies and risk components, progress communication, coordination, and collaboration across teams.

• Provide regular communication of objectives, progress, feedback, and roadblocks to team members; escalate to senior management as appropriate.

• Plan and deliver solutions that are clearly documented, have traceability to business objectives, and are in line with business priorities while aligning these solutions with long-term technology capabilities.

• Prepare and present market analysis, business cases, feasibility studies, project management, project requirements, definition and planning as relevant to our industry and in consideration of solutions to meet current business needs and to deliver real business value.

• Partner with business leaders in a variety of problem solving activities and evaluations of short and long-term business challenges.

• Directly and/or indirectly manage teams leading foundational process implementations or changes to existing business processes.

• Build and grow trusting and credible relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.

• Use process and system use competency to provide support in the re-engineering of processes.

• Facilitate exploitation of ‘Business Intelligence’ – data warehouse reporting opportunities needed for support of business or technical/EDI systems.

• Evaluate system functionality, working with customer to establish requirements and aids the process of managing enhancement requests with in-house, purchased, and third party tools.

• Complete consistent, formal tracking and reporting of priority changes and their potential impact.

• Understand and translate business process and goals into reporting requirements; enable formalized metric tracking and reporting and data-driven decision-making, process improvement and process controls.

• Conduct regular training; develop and publish validated training materials and user guidance as needed.

• May directly or indirectly manage staff or teams supporting business processes and business process change exercises.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in a directly related field

Required Work Experience

• 5+ years of business process design or management experience including software adoption and best practices

• 4+ years of maritime and/or logistics industry experience

Preferred Work Experience

• Experience with Vilden, Inform, TMW TruckMate, Terminal Operating Systems (N4, Tideworks, etc) or Trinium preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Applied in-depth knowledge of the principles and strategies related to business process methodologies, process improvement, and change management approaches.

• Ability to perform large-scale business process redesigns and process optimization, including reducing waste or non-value added activities.

• Ability to facilitate cross-functional work teams and business process reviews to identify business impact, needs, efficiency opportunities, redundancy implications and risk concerns.

• Significant and current business knowledge to identify process overlaps, systems and opportunity areas.

• High degree of problem solving capability, organization skills, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

• Exceptional project planning skills with the ability to drive project milestones, gate management, and quality deliverables.

• Proven success in achieving business goals and objectives; proven ability to manage multiple time sensitive initiatives to strict deadlines.

• Highly skilled in the development of presentations for diverse audiences and levels.

• Extensive knowledge of business workflows, best practices, and operational requirements to identify potential process overlaps, systems and opportunity areas.

• Ability to lead teams and guide resources through projects and change management exercises

• Ability to translate IT technical language to business teams and vice versa with the ability to distill strategic ideas into understandable components.

• Ability to generate and champion new ideas, approaches, and initiatives to facilitate business transformation activities.

• Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels:

The applicable salary range is aligned to one of 5 zones according to a cost of labor index for the geographic location of the role. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include related experience, education and training, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below. Ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone 3: $110,000 – $130,000

This job is also eligible for participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on eligible compensation and corporate/individual performance goal attainment.
Annual Incentive Opportunity: 10% of eligible compensation
