Kongsberg is seeking to hire a high-performing Sales Manager in the USA. Responsible for sales and support of Marine Engineering and Site Inspection (MESI) sonar solution sales to end users and Kongsberg Sales Affiliates around the world.  Responsibilities include travel to perform demonstrations, attend trade shows, and conduct training on the products.

In this position your main responsibilities are:

  • Generate Customer awareness, interest and desire in MESI product solutions
  • Close on Customer orders through consultative collaboration
  • Serve all Sales Affiliates and Customers for their informational, quotation, order entry, order management, order expediting, after-sales service, and training needs
  • Provide guidance to the Sales Coordinator and Sales Support Coordinator on quotations, order entry, order management and sales project management as required
  • Represent MESI product solutions at trade shows, conferences, and in the field
  • Generate and maintain distribution contracts and price lists
  • Develop budgets and forecasts
  • Observe and respond to the competitive environment
  • Pursue new sales opportunities through new products, services, and territories
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively both domestically and internationally as required
  • Cross-training in other Kongsberg Mesotech products and markets is also required

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Technical Certification or Degree Program as a Technologist, Engineer, Surveyor or Hydrographer.   Equivalent work experience in Engineering, Survey, Maritime or Marine technology, or Commercial / Research Fisheries will be considered by the interview board
  • Business degree or MBA a plus
  • A minimum of one year of sales experience – either technical or retail sales
  • In addition, one or more years of technical experience in Engineering, Survey, Maritime or Marine technology
  • Willingness and technical aptitude to become a subject matter expert in high-frequency sonar for MESI applications
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork skills with all internal departments
  • Excellent probing skills, listening skills, presentation skills and closing skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability for success with international clients

Work Location:

US – New Orleans is a preferred location, but open to remote work
