Meet Wakinyila Running, a Native American based in Aarhus, Denmark and a proud graduate of Svendborg International Maritime Academy (SIMAC). The Great Lakes Maritime Academy and Northwestern Michigan College, with support from the Maritime Administration, will host the ninth annual Women On The Water Conference from October 26th to the 28th.  This conference provides cadets, from all 7 maritime academies in the US, an opportunity to learn from professional mariners, industry representatives, and maritime professional development speakers. Marine Pilot, Captain Hanna Odengrund

Meet Captain Hanna Odengrund from Norrköping, Sweden.  Hanna is a graduate of Kalmar Maritime Academy and is licensed as both a master and pilot for vessels of unlimited tonnage.  Captain Hanna has worked on vessels over the course of the past 15 years; having spent much of her career on chemical tankers.  As a pilot, her main duties involve navigating and maneuvering ships between the ports of Oxelösund and Norrköping, Sweden.
