Join us at an upcoming event!
The Great Lakes Maritime Academy and Northwestern Michigan College, with support from the Maritime Administration, will host the ninth annual Women On The Water Conference from October 26th to the 28th. This conference provides cadets, from all 7 maritime academies in the US, an opportunity to learn from professional mariners, industry representatives, and maritime professional development speakers.
Conference highlights include:
- Learning about non-traditional shipping opportunities aboard research vessels, ferries, and tugs. Representatives from NOAA, G & H Towing, and Hornblower Niagara Cruises will share their experiences and advice.
- Hearing from the Interlake Steamship Company, American Steamship Company, and the Great Lakes Fleet about their fast paced shipping activities on the Great Lakes.
- Discovering what it is like to sail on the oceans with ConocoPhillips/Polar Tankers, Chevron, and Military Sealift Command representatives.
Kick off the conference on Thursday, October 26th at 1600 at the Professional Organizations and Resources Activity with WISTA and Women Offshore.
