The DEP is desperately looking for chief engineers!
I am currently an assistant engineer at the DEP. I am sharing this listing because I believe this is the best job in the world, a hidden gem in the maritime industry. And I would love to see more women in the workplace! We get to sail/ work on ships but still go home at the end of the day. We work three days in a row, 14 hour shifts. I love the pace of the day, the work itself and I really enjoy my crew! We are currently looking to hire chiefs because most of our chiefs will be retiring soon after long careers here. We also recently got a pay increase that makes it a more desirable position. It is a city job and we’re under a union. If you have more questions and would like to hear more about it you can call me at (646)629-9000.
