Engineer (CTV) – Job Overview

As the Engineer of a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV), you will be Responsible for the smooth operation of all Machinery onboard. You will be involved in transferring Technicians, Personnel and Cargo on and off the Turbines and SOV’s and you will contribute to the safety and well-being of all individuals aboard, engaging in a positive safety culture, Professional communications with the Company, Client and the MCC Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • General Maintenance, inspection and repairs of the vessels machinery and ancillary equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair Hydraulic, Electrical and Mechanical components of the vessel
  • Assist when Transferring Technicians, Personnel and Cargo on and off the Turbines and SOV’s
  • Associated Administrative work, record keeping, communications with Company and Client
  • Compliance with the companies SMS with strict adherence to all IMO Codes
  • Application of the PMS, Ability to identify and raise non-conformities and Defects
  • Assisting the Deckhand, with hands on assistance when required
  • Compliance with all Flag/Port and Local regulations

Required Certification and Documentation

  • AEC 1 and 2 or greater (larger tickets are encouraged and compensated)
  • For non-UK issued COC, an MCA FSE is required
  • Proof of Right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Valid passport for travel to the United Kingdom and Europe
  • STCW basic safety training certificates
    • Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1)
    • Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention (A-VI/1-2)
    • Elementary First Aid (A-VI/1-3)
    • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (A-VI/1-4) <4 years
  • STCW Advanced safety training certificates (<4 years)
    • Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3)
  • ENG1 Seafarer medical certificate (any restrictions must not lie outside the remit of the position)
  • Crowd Management (A-V/2, A-V/3)
  • Slinger banksman – online course industry specific
  • Food Hygiene Level 2
  • Valid Drivers Licence

Seagoing Experience

  • Proven experience as a Engineer on commercially operated vessels, with a preference for CTV experience however small vessel work (fishing/tugs/Ro-Ro) considered.
  • Familiarity with CAT engines, Hydraulic systems, Electrical Systems and ancillary equipment
  • Ability to work autonomously, Ability to manage high performance engines
  • Management of Passengers and Cargo
  • Experience with Company and Client interaction and collaboration
