Women Offshore is pleased to announce our very first event, where Women Offshore UNITE! We invite women who work or have worked on the water in the maritime and offshore energy industries to gather in Houston, Texas!

On July 25th, 2017, Women Offshore was launched to be a resource for women who work on the water in the maritime and offshore energy industries. Our mission is to shine a light on women in operations, provide resources to foster long-term careers, and showcase the latest gender diversity and inclusion efforts on the water.

Today, we are pleased to open the registration for our very first event, UNITE! Hosted at Transocean’s US headquarters at 4 Greenway Plaza, Room C100, in Houston, Texas, July 27-28, this will be a dynamic event, geared towards overcoming challenges in male-dominated industries. Women Offshore’s UNITE is open to women who currently work or have experience working on the water in the maritime and offshore industries.

Connect with women who hail from all ends of the maritime and offshore energy industries. Be inspired by women with decades of experience on the water. Learn from female leaders as they speak on panels, sharing their lessons learned to propel other’s careers. Interact in a workshop, lead by Erica D’Eramo of Two Piers Consulting, to learn tactics on how to navigate stressful situations and practice techniques that work for you.

A Panel of Women Making Waves

Challenges, we all have them.

A career at sea, thousands of miles from home, for months or weeks at a time, is a demanding one. Packing for a long hitch, dealing with homesickness, planning an offshore career and a family, studying for license exams after working a 12-hour day, and establishing boundaries with crew members are just a few examples.

So, how does one overcome challenges to thrive in a role offshore?

At Women Offshore’s first event, UNITE, we will set sail to brave the stormy seas, together. During a panel on the first day, we will talk specifically about overcoming challenges.

Below, women from the maritime and offshore energy industries with over 40 years of experience will share their careers and what they learned along the way. Lead by Captain Sheila LaFleur, the panelists are role models, pursuing their dreams of working on the water. Their lessons learned will be tools to utilize, providing support and understanding.

Be prepared to be inspired by this wave-making group!
