Women Offshore is a 501(c)(3) supporting a diverse workforce on the water. It’s the holiday season and sailors for centuries have made the most of being away for the holidays. This podcast, Ally Cedeno and April Killian explore the history of the Christmas tree at sea.

There is so much holiday tradition in the maritime industry around the Christmas tree. Exploring early uses of Christmas trees at sea in the early 1900s, Ally & April tell stories of how Christmas trees were brought to various areas of the country by ship. They also talk about how the Coast Guard is involved in bringing Christmas trees to underprivileged families.
