When Keely Gavin first began her career in human resources on land, she couldn’t have imagined the course it would take. Later, in 2022, she found herself leading through a severe COVID outbreak onboard during the holiday season, supporting nearly 400 infected crew through weeks of uncertainty. These challenges were immense, but they became some of her most rewarding experiences, teaching her the importance of presence, clarity, and compassion in the face of crisis.

Of course, ship life wasn’t all defined by emergency response. Keely reflects with pride on her years with the Carnival Cruise Line Legend, where she worked alongside a leadership team that transformed crew satisfaction and wellbeing. For two consecutive years, their vessel ranked among the top three in the fleet for crew satisfaction, a testament to her belief that culture and leadership are not soft add-ons, but vital to the success of both vessel and crew. For Keely, the greatest reward has always been witnessing people grow, not only in their roles, but as individuals navigating the demands of life at sea.

After extending her time at sea three years longer than she had planned, Keely knew it was time for the next chapter. Her dream of starting a business had always been on the horizon, and her experiences at sea gave her the conviction to make it a reality.
