In today’s episode, Christine MacMillan speaks with mariner Max Kantor about using social media as a good way to build community, personal branding, and how to come together in a male-dominated industry. She gives great advice that we all could use!

Max Kantor works offshore as a mate with Hornbeck Offshore aboard Offshore Supply Vessels. Growing up with parents who worked for maritime companies in Long Beach and Los Angeles harbor, Max was inspired to attend California Maritime Academy. She graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation and currently holds an unlimited tonnage chief mate and 1600-ton master license. Before sailing on OSVs, Max worked on the Research Vessel Atlantis and aboard product and crude oil tankers. She lives in Southern California and loves to read, snowboard, surf, and travel in her off time.
