Today on the podcast, Christine MacMillan talks with Chief Engineer Angela Bueno. Angela was the 2021 Wave Maker Award winner!
Angela Bueno joins us from her home in Charlotte, NC. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2007. While at MMA, she assisted in creating the Academy’s Multi-Cultural Club, bringing the multi-national student body together to learn about each other. Upon graduating, Angela worked short periods in the salvage, shipyard, and cruise industries before ultimately dedicating her career to dredging domestically for the Army Corps of Engineers.
Over the last 14 years at sea, Angela worked her way up and upgraded her USCG issued license to First Assistant Engineer- Motor Unlimited horsepower and Chief Engineer-Limited horsepower. She sailed as chief engineer on the Dredge Merritt and Dredge Murden, 2015-2021.
Now retired from sea, Angela is a realtor dedicated to serving her local community and spends her spare time with her husband, Rick, and two dogs, Boone and Guapo.
