Listen to voices making waves in Fiji.

In September 2016, the Fiji Women in Maritime Association, known as Fiji WIMA, was founded to promote the visibility of women in the maritime sector, establish a network to connect, inspire and promote female maritime professionals and provide the opportunity to engage stakeholders within Fiji’s maritime industry. FIJI WIMA is a part of the IMO’s Gender Programme and they are a very active group, supporting women on the water and spreading the word about the importance of the maritime industry.

In this episode, Ally Cedeno, the founder of Women Offshore interviews Jane Koi, the president of Fiji WIMA, and Captain Asena Sitela. Jane has been leading the association for about 3 years now, and Captain Asena has both benefited from and contributed to the association.
