Now on the Women Offshore Podcast, Second Mate Karynn Marchal shares her career transiting the globe on a car carrier and how she fills up 6 months of off time.

Today on the Women Offshore Podcast, meet Second Mate Karynn Marchal, a graduate of Texas A&M Galveston and a member of The International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots (MM&P) union. Since graduating in 2014, Marchal has sailed all over the world on various vessels through MM&P. Currently, Marchal sails as second mate on a car carrier that transits the globe. She has career aspirations to be a chief mate and looks forward to sailing as a captain one day.

On this episode of the Women Offshore Podcast, Marchal not only shares her career as second mate, but also how she fills up her off time. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Marchal is a big fan of crawfish. For her, it’s not just a dish, it’s so much more. Marchal’s love of crawfish has motivated her to create a social media page, Crawdaddygang, to educate and entertain those who also crave the small, freshwater crustaceans on where to go for the best prices and seasonings.
