Meet Captain Jaquelyn Burton.
In episode 114, Christine interviews Captain Jaquelyn (Jaquie) Burton: head of Creative Design at Kongsberg Maritime, and a mentor for women entering the Offshore and Maritime Industries through Women Offshore as well as for TechStars Energy Accelerator for early-stage energy startups.
Jaquie was named one of the 18 Women Reshaping the Future of Ocean Industries by Nautix Technologies 2020, named one of the 10 Women to Watch in the Maritime Industry for 2019 at Nor-Shipping by YoungShip, and is a Recipient of a WaveMaker Award at the Women Offshore at the 2019 Unite Conference. She is an expert in Maritime Shipping, with operations management experience in offshore LNG plants and international merchant ships and experience in leading multi-national technical teams in industrial environments.
Serving as Chair of the Board of SAMS Norway (Sustainable Autonomous Mobility Systems, Norway), Jaquelyn is also a Member of the Board at the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association Norway branch (WISTA Norway), and a board member directing operations at Captains without Boarders. She is also part of the Nautical Institute’s Automation technical advisory group.
