Meet Claudia Erber
In episode 112, Christine chats with Claudia Erber, a Brazilian marine biologist living in Norway. Since 1996, Claudia has been involved in various projects relating to the environmental impact of the energy industry on the marine environment. During this time, she created the Environment Technician Course for offshore employers and worked with Emergency Plans drills for the energy industry. In Norway, Claudia developed research on deep-sea life on board subsea vessels and coordinated a unique bilateral network between Brazil and Norway within the research and subsea technology developers. She has also coordinated various events together with Innovation Norway and FINEP.
Since 2020, Claudia has worked as a Marine Mammal Observers (MMO’s) and Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operators (PAM)Â in the North Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. As an MMO/PAM, Claudia is responsible for ensuring that marine seismic activity projects have the minimum impact on protected species.
