Women Offshore is proud to connect you with the Women’s Energy Network of Houston and their 2018 Academic Scholarship Program.
Founded in 1994, the Women’s Energy Network’s (WEN) mission is to develop programs that provide networking opportunities and foster the careers and leadership development of women who work in the energy industries. WEN is also committed to fueling the industries’ future needs for recruiting top talent, by introducing high school students to careers in energy.
Through their Young Women Energized (YWE) program, the WEN Chapter of Houston provides students, parents, and educators career planning opportunities. On Tuesday, January 23rd at the Houston Baptist University Church, WEN will host their next YWE meeting for high school girls, grades 9-12. This is an incredible opportunity to ask the experts what it’s like to work in energy and map out your career.
Additionally, each year WEN of Houston sponsors five $2,000, one-time awards, to young women in their final year of secondary school. All eligible applicants are graduating female high school seniors from the Greater Houston Area, who demonstrate exemplary academic records and display leadership potential.
Eligible applicants must plan to attend an accredited, four-year university degree program in the fall semester, post award announcement.
