Maritime SheEO supports the next generation of female maritime leaders, and you are invited to their first conference in Mumbai on March 20th! 

Sitara Shipping director Sanjam Gupta is passionate about gender equality and seafarers’ welfare. She is a founder member of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) in India, board member of WISTA International and a member of the executive board of directors of the World Maritime University.

As an ambassador of the Sailor Society in India, Sanjam was a driving force behind the Diversity Handbook in 2018, along with International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN) and Anglo Eastern. In May 2018, Sanjam received the Sandvik Gender Award for her outstanding contribution and commitment to gender equality.

In 2019, Sanjam launched a new project to support female leadership within the maritime sector, Maritime SheEO. It is a concept to support the next generation of female maritime leaders. Focused on the business case for diversity, Maritime SheEO works with stakeholders to create solutions that impact the entire maritime industry.

You are invited to attend the first Maritime SheEO conference endorsed by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and supported by the Directorate General of Shipping & United Nations Global Compact, India.  The conference will be held on March 20, 2020 in Mumbai at the St. Regis Hotel.

The theme of the conference is Diversity and Sustainability, offering opportunities to network with representatives from the IMO, International Chamber of Shipping, ship owners, and maritime and logistics companies from over 10 countries.
